How to describe your business, ask for changes, release them, and look after your application and the people who use it.
Getting started
- Sign up and your free trial
Start a free trial with your company's name and your email address, prove the address, and set up your account in a few minutes.
- Create your first application
Say what your business does, give the application a name, check the language, currency and time zone, and Divvent writes a first version for you to approve.
- The Needs you page
The front page lists what is waiting on you in every application, most urgent first, and below it your applications and where each one has got to.
- Signing in, passkeys and recovery codes
How to sign in, set up a passkey or an authenticator app, keep recovery codes, and set a new password if you forget yours.
- Your application's settings
What each tab of Settings is for, and the General tab — the application's language, currency and time zone, and whether Divvent may keep what you type.
Describing your business and asking for changes
- Describe your business, and check Divvent understood it
How your first description becomes an application, and how the What it is screen lets you check Divvent has understood your business.
- Ask for a change
Say what should be different in your own words, and follow every change from asking to live on the Changes screen.
- Read a change and approve it
What a change's page tells you, how to approve or decline it, and which changes our team approves instead of you.
Releases
- Release a version
Put an approved version live in production, see what happens while it is released, and read the history of every release.
- Try a version in a test copy
Open a copy of your application beside production, release a version into it, try it, then promote it or close it.
- Roll back a release
Put back the version that was running before your last release, and choose whether your data goes back too.
- Platform updates
How Divvent keeps the platform under your application up to date, when an update is applied, and what you can decide about it.
Pages, flows and permissions
- Change your pages
Rearrange, retitle, resize and add sections on your application's pages, see them on a phone, a tablet or a desktop, and ask for the result as one change.
- Flows: what happens on its own
See, change and start the things your application does by itself, such as emailing a customer when a job is completed, and try them with a made-up record first.
- Permissions: who can see and do what
See which of your application's roles can see, add, change and delete each kind of record, and ask for a change to it.
- Change the model directly
Add kinds of record, fields and links yourself, change what a field holds, and ask for the result as one change.
People and sign-in
- People and roles
Invite someone to your account, choose what they may do, and change or remove them later.
- Your users' sign-in
How the people who use your application sign in, and what an owner can do when one of them is locked out or nobody can get in.
- Working for clients as an agency
Let an agency work on your company, or work as an agency yourself and build applications for your clients.
Plans and billing
- Plans and billing
Your free trial, choosing a plan, invoices, the AI budget, and what happens when a payment fails.
Your data
- Import your existing records
Bring a spreadsheet or another export into your application, check what each column becomes, approve it, and undo it if you need to.
- Export your application and your data
Take a copy of your application's model, its build and all its data, and what it means to run it without Divvent.
- Backups and restoring your data
Your nightly backups, taking one now, and putting your data back to a backup or to a moment in the last 30 days.
- Working offline, for your staff
How your staff keep working on a phone with no signal, what is kept on the phone, how their changes are sent later, and what happens when two people changed the same record.
- Privacy: what is kept about people, and erasing someone
See what your application keeps about people and for how long, hand someone their records, and erase a person when they ask.
Templates and the marketplace
- Templates and the marketplace
Start an application from a ready-made template, add parts of one to an application you have, rate templates, and publish your own.
Integrations
- Connect other services
Take card payments with Stripe, post to Slack, put bookings in a Google calendar or send texts through Twilio, and see exactly what your application sends to each.
- Other services, for advanced use
Connect a service Divvent has no ready-made connection for, by its web address and a key or a sign-in, or exchange signed messages with another system by webhook.
- Keep your books in Xero or QuickBooks
Send customers, issued invoices, credit notes, payments and refunds to Xero or QuickBooks Online, see how the sync is doing, and choose the tax codes and accounts they are filed under.
Documents, booking, reports and messaging
- Documents and signatures
What Divvent applications can do with invoices, receipts, delivery notes and records of work, including signing, and why you can't add one to your own application yet.
- Bookings and appointments
Let staff and customers book times with a person, a room or a piece of equipment, never double-booked, within working hours, with holds, notice periods and reminders.
- Reports and dashboards
Give each role in your application its own dashboard of figures and charts, let staff build and save their own reports, download them, and have them emailed on a schedule.
- Messages, email and texts
Let customers and staff talk about an order, job or booking inside your application, send emails and in-app notifications when things happen, and send texts through Twilio.
Custom domains
- Use your own domain
Give your application an address on your own domain, like app.yourcompany.com, and send its email from your domain too.
Security, privacy and status
- Security, and what Divvent can and can't see
How your application is kept apart from everyone else's, what our team can and cannot see, how support access works, and how your sign-in is protected.
- The AI and your data
What Divvent's AI is shown, what it never sees, what it can and can't do by itself, and how its use is paid for.
- Terms, privacy and your data processing agreement
The four documents between Divvent and your company, where to read them, what your company accepts, and what happens when one changes.
- Health and Activity
See what went wrong in your application in the last day, ask the AI why, and read the record of everything that has happened to it.
- Status and incidents
How you find out when Divvent or your application has a problem, what we email you about, and how to reach us.
- What the AI can't do yet
The things Divvent can't build yet, what "Waiting on Divvent" means for your change, and what happens when the missing piece arrives.
For developers
- The Divvent API
Do by API what you can do in the portal — list applications, ask for and approve changes, release, roll back and export — with a token you control.
- The Divvent command line
Drive your applications from a terminal — sign in with a code, ask for and approve changes, release, roll back and export.
For Divvent’s own team: the runbook.
